ChatGPT is a language model that helps the user by generating texts in several areas, such as collecting information, but also writing a publication or an essay. The prefix Chat is a well-known concept, mainly because of the widely used Chatbots. The suffix GPT – short for Generative Pre-trained Transformer – stands for a powerful language model that uses a deep learning method to generate texts.
ChatGPT is developed by OpenAI, an American artificial intelligence company and research laboratory, one of whose best-known founders is Elon Musk. MicroSoft entered the company in 2019 with an investment of 1 billion dollars, which significantly promoted the development of ChatGPT.
ChatGPT really gained massive popularity in November 2022, when it became available with registration for free. The solution can be used in many areas:
- collecting information
- text content writing
- gathering ideas
- accomplishing additional language tasks like summarization, or translation.
